How to help after a major event

A main goal of the site it to be able to help people in real time after disasters.

That means that it is constantly changing and being updated as things develop in real time.

I created a revolving slide show on the top of the page to help assist us in getting information to people in a fast way.

At times the best way is to share a link to an article from reputable news source, searching for local newspapers and news stations with a list of on the ground groups helping in an affected area is the best way to find success getting goods directly in to the hands of those affected.

While you can always donate to the bigger foundations that we support I strive to find local chapters and, on the ground, local entities.

Chef Jose Andres and World Central Kitchen has gotten more well known the last handful of years and is one of the best organizations out there that are directly helping victims on the ground all around the world.

Additionally, things that will always be in need, harder to obtain and not always thought of as donations.
